Noggins is looking for a Market Champion!

I (Teri) am moving out of province, so we are looking for someone to fill my spot, championing the markets in the city 4 days a week.  Please share with anyone you think of who may be interested!


Noggins Corner Farm is hiring a Market Champion!  

Love farmers' markets?  Passionate about local produce?  This could be a perfect fit for you!

Days of work are Thursday to Sunday, commuting from our farm and warehouse in the Valley (Greenwich) to HRM each day.  This position includes the Hammonds Plains Farmer's Market, QEII/VG Market, and Halifax Seaport Farmers' Market locations.

This job requires lots of heavy lifting (50 lbs+) and driving, some early morning starts, as well as dealing with the public and promoting farm products.  At minimum, the ideal candidate will possess a driver's license, lots of positive energy and a willingness to learn.

Qualities of the ideal candidate include (not required, but any of these are considered assets):
-knowledge of farming or farmers' markets products
-interest in cooking/nutrition as it relates to selling produce
-experience using social media for promotion
-an eye for creating beautiful market displays (the "Wow" factor)
-basic graphic design skills (creating promotional posters)
-experience handling cash
-experience dealing with customers
-ability to drive a forklift
-work well under pressure
-attention to detail (eg. making sure prices are correct)
-experience with ordering product, inventory, etc.
-experience in promotion or marketing
-clean driving record and ability to follow a vehicle maintenance schedule

Remuneration is hourly and will be based on the qualifications of the applicant.  Position can start as soon as possible, and needs to be filled by Thursday, April 30.
